Where to apply
The jurisdiction of the Consular Section of the Embassy of Portugal in New Delhi covers all India (except the States of Maharastra and Goa and the Union Territories of Daman, Diu, Dadra and Nagar Haveli) for short and long term visa.
The residents of the States of Maharastra and Goa and the Union Territories of Daman, Diu, Dadra and Nagar Haveli have to apply to the Consulate General of Portugal in Goa at the following address:

In the absence of Portuguese Missions in Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka, the residents of these countries have to apply to the Embassy of France in Dhaka (for business visa), Kathmandu (for business and tourist visa) and Colombo (for business and tourist visa), which represent Portugal.
The long-term national visa (vg. research, study, work and family) for residents of Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka have to be submitted to the Embassy of Portugal in New Delhi.

The Portugal Visa Application Centre would accept applications for Airport Transit, Schengen Short Term Visa (Transit, Business, Tourist, Family Visit, Conference and others) and Long Term Visa (Research, Study/Training, Work, Family Reunion and others), to submit to the Embassy of Portugal in New Delhi. Applicants are requested to kindly read the information on this site carefully. The guidelines listed on this site are to help you prepare your documents as accurately as possible. This will reduce the chances of your application being delayed or declined due to inadequate or incorrect submission of documents.
Please note that you may be required to appear personally in the Visa Section at the Embassy of Portugal for an interview prior to a decision being taken on your application. The Visa Application Centre shall help you to take an appointment for the same.
Foreign National residing in India must submit valid permit to return to India.

Passport with at least three months validity from the date of arrival back in India The Embassy of Portugal does not accept additional pages inserted into passports. If you do not have a blank page to which a visa can be affixed, a new passport must be obtained before submitting your application. A single sided page is required to affix a visa but there should not be a valid visa on the back side of that page. |

Relevant Forms & Photograph Fully completed application form appropriate to the type of visa and with two original passport-size photographs. The applicant has to complete all the points of the application forms clearly and in capital letters. Incomplete forms will not be accepted. Digital photographs are not acceptable (Photo Specification) |

Children under 18 traveling without one or both parents or without a legal guardian must provide an affidavit for travel signed by both parents or by the parent or legal guardian not traveling and also a copy of passport's 1st and last page of parent. |
